Trashion is a blend of “trash” and “fashion”. It is used to imply objects and garments made out of unwanted, recycled materials with a new purpose in life. It awakens our environmental awareness, and challenges our creativity.
Who invented Trashion?
In the 1990s, the American artist Ann Wizer created a set of costumes made from plastic waste to celebrate Earth Day in the Philippines. She founded the XS Project, a charity based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
